How to Comment on Reddit to Drive Leads (Templates)
Reply frameworks that work on recommendation threads, without copy-paste spam or ban risk.
Reddit comment marketing is not dropping your URL under a viral post. It's joining the one thread where someone already asked for help and writing a reply so useful they'd thank you even if you never mentioned your product. Templates help you move fast without sounding like a bot.
The structure that works
Every strong Reddit reply follows the same skeleton:
- Answer the question directly (2–3 sentences, specifics).
- Add one tradeoff or constraint ("works great under 20 users, gets expensive after that").
- Disclose if relevant: "Full disclosure: I built [product]."
- Link only if asked or if the sub allows it and it's genuinely the best fit.
Never use: "Check out my SaaS!" as the whole comment. That's not comment marketing, that's spam with extra steps.
Template: "Looking for a tool" thread
We had the same problem at [company size]. We tried [manual approach] first and hit [specific pain]. What worked for us was [approach/category], specifically [how it helped]. Full disclosure: I built [product name] because [honest reason]. Happy to share our stack if useful.
Customize every word. Redditors spot copy-paste across subs instantly.

Template: "Alternative to X" thread
We switched from [competitor] because [specific issue: price, missing feature, support]. [Your category] tools vary a lot on [dimension that matters]. If [use case], look at [option A traits]. If [other use case], [option B traits]. We ended up on [your product] for [one honest reason]. Not affiliated with the others, just what we tested.
Template: "How do you handle X?" (no tool ask yet)
We [describe workflow]. Biggest lesson was [non-obvious tip]. Tool-wise, most teams our size use [category], but the process mattered more than the software.
No link. Build karma and credibility. They may DM or ask follow-ups.

What to avoid
- Identical comments across subs (shadowban bait).
- Superlatives: "best," "game-changer," "#1."
- DM solicitation unless the sub culture allows it.
- Arguing with people who chose a competitor.

Questions, answered.
No. We only surface public posts and comments that anyone can already read. How you engage is up to you, and we strongly recommend being genuinely helpful first, mentioning your product only when it actually fits. Spammers get banned; helpers get customers.
Not at all. Most of our users had never posted before. redditleads.farm hands you the thread and a drafted reply, so you just show up, help, and link your product when it makes sense.
Real-time. A new post or comment is matched and pushed to your dashboard in under 60 seconds, with an optional daily digest email so nothing slips through.
We scan all of Reddit, all 12,400+ subreddits, not a hand-picked list. Even very specific problems surface. The narrower your niche, the higher your match quality tends to be. That's the advantage of a real reddit monitoring tool over manual searches.
